Massage therapy
~ Why do most people get a massage?
The number one reason is stress. Stress comes in many forms and manifests in different ways. Physical stress from overuse or repetitive motion may cause chronic discomfort, muscular or joint pain. Environmental stress from allergies, pollution, or lack of fresh circulated air may cause headaches. Emotional stress may result in overall fatigue and general malaise.
~ How can massage help these kinds of stressors?
Massage increases circulation of blood and oxygen which, in turn, brings nourishment to tired, sore and fatigued muscles. It increases endorphins, which may bring about a feeling of well-being. Massage also aids in joint mobility and muscular flexibility by loosening soft tissue structures.
~ How often should I get a massage?
Frequency of massage is very individual. It depends on many factors including the severity of the condition that is being treated, your time and scheduling flexibility, and cost. Insurance plans are not accepted, however I will prepare a receipt for you to submit to your provider.
~ Will massage hurt or cause me more pain?
I never have the intention of causing discomfort. Many clients have passed on stories of being worked on very deeply even after asking the therapist to lighten the pressure. My intention is to help your situation. There may be circumstance to work on a specific area using deep tissue massage, trigger point work or cupping, but only if necessary and not for an entire treatment.
~ What do I wear?
Boundaries are completely respected of all clients, as I expect my boundaries will be respected in return. Some clients who are survivors of abuse do not wish to remove any clothing and that is totally acceptable. We can achieve an effective treatment. Most clients leave on underpants but it is not required. Many men will bring gym shorts. Please know you will be properly and respectfully draped with a sheet at all times. Your comfort on the table is of utmost importance.
~ Do you work with people living with chronic or terminal illness?
Many chronic illnesses can be helped by regular massage. Individuals living with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis and digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome may experience relief due to the relaxation response. Many people in the recovery process from certain cancers may enjoy the therapeutic benefit of compassionate touch after enduring the medical treatment process. Depending on the stage of terminal illness, just the caring touch of a gentle massage may ease pain and provide emotional comfort.
~ How long will it take to get an appointment?
To get a day and time that is preferred to you it is advisable that you book a treatment at least one week in advance. Saturday appointments are booked a month in advance. There are absolutely no Sunday hours.

Cannabis education
~ How much is a cannabis consultation?
No charge.
~ I have no interest in smoking cannabis but have heard about many benefits. How can I get those benefits without inhaling smoke?
Fortunately, there are several ways to reap the benefits of cannabis, including applying topical treatments (for pain, skin conditions, etc.), ingesting in the form of medicated edibles and beverages or *CBD oil *(non-psychoactive), vaping oil (convection rather than combustion).
~ Now that adult use (recreational) is legal in Massachusetts, should I still keep [or obtain] a medical marijuana card?
If you currently have your MMJ card, I encourage you to keep it. If you have been obtaining your medicine from dispensaries and are satisfied with the results, stick with it. Once adult use stores begin to open there will be a significant tax on cannabis sold there.
~ Speaking of dispensaries, if I get a medical marijuana card will there be someone who can help me choose products?
Yes. Once you obtain your MMJ card and decide to visit a dispensary there will be patient advocates and bud tenders who can help you select the medicine that is right for you and the condition you wish to treat. I do recommend that you do some research prior to your visit. A good resource for information is Leafly.com
~ What are some of the conditions that are helped with cannabis use?
What I see in my practice are folks looking for relief from muscular pain, anxiety, stress, depression and insomnia. It is not limited to those conditions. Many have been helped who are living with auto-immune diseases, MS, PTSD, cancer, Parkinson's disease, Lyme disease, dementia, neuropathy and more.
No charge.

Energy work
~ What is Energy Work?
It is a form of healing focused on the energy centers (chakras) of the body. We look to rebalance, restore and allow energy to flow more freely though the body and mind to assist you in physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing.
~ Can you explain further?
Yes. Do you ever experience the feeling of being "stuck" and just can't seem to move forward no matter how hard you try? Does your self-talk include words that reflect limitations ("I can't" "I'll never be able to..." "It will never happen for me")? Do you focus on the past with regret or guilt? With Energy Work our effort is to release these self-imposed thoughts and patterns, clearing away the blocks that prevent you from taking the next steps leading you to a more fulfilling life.
~ Is it like Reiki?
Reiki is one of the many modalities that I use during a session. Integrated Energy Therapy, Theta Healing, the use of tuning forks and crystals is also incorporate into your treatment. These are tools to facilitate the healing process.
~ How does this treatment work and how long does it take?
You lie fully clothed on the massage table, covered with a blanket to keep you warm. I check the state of your chakras with a pendulum and select crystals that will enhance the desired outcome of your session. You will hear tuning forks as we begin the treatment. The frequency of the tuning forks assists in the healing process. You will feel the light touch of my hands on specific energy centers of your body. The treatment takes approximately one hour and afterwards we will discuss anything that came up for you during the session.
~ Will I feel anything?
Most folks feel very relaxed, similar to that feeling just before waking up. You may experience insights related to the current healing process, like lucid dreaming. Some people see colors, feel warmth or coolness, recognize scents. The senses may become heightened.
~ How much does this cost?
The session is $65.
